Mechanical Engineering
Course overview
Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. The mechanical engineering field requires an understanding of core areas including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided design, and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and others. It is one of the primitive branches of Engineering which have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. This is why Mechanical trade is called as an Evergreen trade (branch). Mechanical engineers have always been needed as essential staff personnel in various industries of both public and private sector. As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially. Every manufacturing and production industry needs mechanical engineers to carry out jobs efficiently and flawlessly for their companies.
EMPLOYMENT PROSPECTS
Mechanical Engineer finds career opportunities in Government sectors like Railways, NTPC, NHPC, SAIL, ONGC, BEL, BHEL, NALCO, HPCL, GAIL, BPCL, IOCL, CIL, SSC, Indian Army, etc. Private sector also provides good remuneration depending on individual abilities and attitude.
